Well, I almost forgot to say goodbye. The contest is over, the vacation spent, and I’m back to work. But there were some activities that I haven’t reported on, so I should say my proper goodbyes.
The brunch and awards activities started at 10:00 with plenty of good food provided again ... ∞

Hello everyone. Well….the gods of weather just simply will not be kind to us. When I got up this morning I of coarse stuck my head outside first thing and looked at the sky. No clouds…clear blue sky. Is it possible? Could it be? Always the eternal optimist! I believed ... ∞

Well folks… The day just wouldn’t give us what we needed to get into the air. At the 10:30 pilot meeting it was decided to have another meeting outside at the big hangar later at 12:00 to take a better look at the sky. At 12:00 we moved the meeting ... ∞

May 31, 2011.
Another practice day today as everyone gets dialed in for a contest. We had sun for the morning and afternoon and temps up to 90°. As the morning progressed the winds picked up and by noon we were seeing 13kts out of the SW and gusts to 25.

Once again, the weather was the big thing today. Only this time, it was all for the better. As more contestants arrived and started putting their ships together the temps just kept climbing and we actually got to see some blue sky and sunshine.
