Italian glider historian and vintage sailplane event organizer, Vincenzo Pedrielli, has just announced the upcoming release of his latest publication about historic gliders. The book, titled “Vintage Italian Sailplanes / Alianti Italiani d’Epoca,” has taken several years of dedicated research to complete and includes the fine graphics of fellow researcher and glider historian Francesco Camastra.
As part of the SOARING100 celebration, on Saturday October 22, 2011 the National Park Service and the Soaring Society of America will hold a re-dedication ceremony for the Ralph Barnaby Soaring Plaque and the Barnaby Lecture at the Wright Brothers National Memorial Visitor Center.
SOARING100, a four-day celebration that marks a century of recreational soaring, will open Friday, October 21st in Nags Head, North Carolina, near the site where Orville Wright made an almost 10 minute soaring flight 100 years ago.
