Top Of The 12th!

We are in the final two day push towards the finish of WGC here in Uvalde!  But among the U.S. team, optimism reigned all morning for contest day 12.  As Bill Elliot (WE) put it, “Glider pilots are always optimistic.  Even at 500 feet, t…

The final days …up to the climax!

8.15 AM;Good morning on day 12. Would this competition finish with the most-total-points in the overall scores??? I remember that Uvalde 1991 had 12 days this year we hope for 13, though the weather for Saturday seems not to be the real great Uvalde weather, we might see /feel rain, BUT ….that does n’t nt mean pilots cannot…

Miss Daisy – Words About the Worlds

[Video] Day 11 15-18 Meter Grid

On Thursday, the 15 and 18 meter pilots, crews, and tow pilots were plagued with frequent dust clouds while waiting to launch. In the video, you can see the blowing dust and crews valiantly trying to keep wings and canopies clean before launch.

Certainly no regatta start today!

17.00 ;So start times will be crucial again today. With the knowledge that the better weather should be there at 3 it was interesting to see what the decisions would be. In open class pilots left between 14.30 and 15.09. In 18 m. between 15.04 and 15.26. In 15 m. between 14.36 and 15.14. It seems…
