Hannah’s Blog: The Calm Before The Storm

This morning began with the typical Uvalde heat, though some crew assured me, “today was definitely the hottest day so far.”  The pilot’s meeting began as usual at 10:15.  Gridding was set for 12:00. After what was widely referred to yesterday as a “rest day” due to short tasks and early landings, all the pilots seemed prepared for the lengthy area tasks of today’s day 6. A long task today, perfect timing for yours truly to hit up the pool! The weather for the pilots seemed “classic Uvalde,” as well…  But by the time I returned to the airport around 4:30 dark clouds began to fill the skies around the field.
