UK Open Class Nationals, 15m Nationals, Lasham Regionals – Day 6

Without surprise all classes were scrubbed at 08:00 this morning, forecast winds were looking like around 30kts for most of the day, with a 979mb low sat about 200km to our North West over North Wales. This brought with it at least two, possibly four fronts through us from midnight, which unsurprisingly left us another very moist airmass. Cloudbase was pretty low throughout the day, around 1000ft QFE, only rising as one of the fronts came through.

Friday will be an absolutely no fly day, forty knot winds at times, RASP suggesting up to 54 knots less than 100km to our North West. Saturday and Sunday might actually hold promise, although Saturday may be pretty difficult at a 22kt wind, Sunday’s soundings are looking very interesting, potentially 6,000ft climbs! Something to hope for finally.
