Well………….. launching started at 1:30pm after the sniffer reported c/b 3000ft and a 3kt climb with 19 kts wind at flying heights. He could see sun on the ground upwind towards Southam and Cu developing. Very rapidly it all deteriorated and the Director decided to suspend launching and hold the start line. Minutes later he decided to scrub the day in the face of the rapidly approaching rain (much faster that was indicated by earlier forecasts) which made it apparent that the task was not possible.
