Lone Ranger

Hi Guys,

I’m Dan and I’ll be posting a few of my photographs each week onto Soaring Cafe. Need all the feedback you guys have, so please fire away. If you want to find out a bit more about me, just take a look at my profile page.

Location: Santa Cilia, Spanish Pyrenees

Glider: Duo Discus

Camera: Panasonic DMC-TZ7

It’s a shame that this was the weather we had on the third best day of our week out in Spain, but the vultures were out in force and in the end helped us to make the transition from sitting on a small ridge to booming along the bottom of a CuNim at 8,000ft.

I think for a compact, consumer oriented camera, the Panasonic has done a pretty good job of this shot, I’m especially impressed by the cloud definition. All of the shots take a few minutes of Photoshopping (Brightness, Saturation, Hue and Contrast all manipulated by eye) and if I knew how to use the program a bit better, I’d try and bring a bit more life into the slightly washed out looking fields below.
