Tow planes lined up near the main contest office

The photo is of the main hangars and the contest offices with a collection of tow planes out front.

An Aero Boero Tug

The most predominant tow plane here is the Aero Boero, a 180 HP Argentine aircraft which is no longer in production. They are kinda like a cross between a Super Cub and a Maule. Before the factory shut down, many were sold throughout South America, most notably to Brazil.

The Piper Pawnee is currently in production here in Argentina, with most examples working for their original purpose, as crop dusters. The occasional Pawnee is used here for towing. Out of about a dozen tugs at this contest there is only one Pawnee.
