The staff at SoaringCafe is sad to learn of the recent passing of Karl-Heinz Schneider. We thank Thomas Koehler, who sent us the following note.

“Karl-Heinz Schneider, son of Walter Schneider, Manufacturer of famous LS-gliders died on August 15th at the age of 55. He was found in his apartment after suffering a perforation of the stomach. He lived in Kirchheim/Teck, near the Schempp-Hirth factory. After the collapse of the LS firm, he worked for Schempp-Hirth, but because of medical conditions, he decided to retire. His funeral was held on September 16th. He found his last rest under a tree on a mountain side called Odenwald, 70 km south of Frankfurt. He left a son and a daughter (age in the middle 20s).”
