Today at Chilhowee, a nice big roomy Pilatus PC12/47E dropped in to bring guests and wow spectators. After a practice pass (the runway ain’t all that long folks and this big iron can carry roughly 12 people including pilot and co-pilot at 250 mph according to this writer’s secret source), a fine landing was executed. Initial speculation is that Sarah Arnold wanted to present a new taxi service to the folks of Polk County at the Sports Class Nationals, but no, it was just a friend of a friend who wanted to drop in to visit for a day and impress the crowd with the strength of his undercarriage and short landing abilities. This writer was impressed with both accomplishments!
Of course not all were impressed.
Till another event, regards from Chilhowee.
