Soaring Safety Foundation Flight Instructor Refresher Clinic in Etowah, Tennessee

I am happy to announce that we have arranged a Flight Instructor Refresher Clinic in Etowah, Tennessee.

Once again the Soaring Safety Foundation’s Flight Instructor Refresher Clinic (FIRC) will be held at the Etowah Red Roof Inn, just minutes north of Chilhowee Gliderport. This description comes from the Soaring Safety Foundation’s website (www.soaringsafety.org ).

“Every year SSF trustees and advisors travel around the country putting on the FAA approved Flight Instructor Refresher Clinics. Their clinics allow instructor and non-instructors the opportunity to discuss safety issues and concerns about their specific area or site. Flight Instructors who complete the course can take the graduation certificate to their local FSDO and renew their CFIG privileges for another 2 years.”

These clinics are not limited to flight instructors only. They are a valuable learning and safety resource for any glider pilot and any skill level. If you have an upcoming flight review, check with your instructor – most accept a recent FIRC completion certificate in lieu of the hour of ground training. This is an excellent preparation tool for any glider checkride, especially the CFIG certification.

The clinic will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5th from 8 AM to 5 PM and Sunday, Nov. 6th from 8 AM to 5 PM. Cost for all those hours of instruction is only $150.
