October 2, 2011
By

From the September edition of the online DG Newsletter. . .

“In the Alp’s south foehn, Heinz Haemmerle from Austria was able to fly a distance of 1.292 km in an LS-8 on the 26th of August. He took off from his home base at Hohenems-Dornbirn in Austria and flew the distance in a combination of rotors, waves, thermals and on the ridge with an average speed of 117 km/h. This awesome flight is a European and National record in Standard Class. Congratulations to Heinz!”

A record for going .8 miles. The europeons are really record crazy.

A decimal point instead of a comma makes a big difference.
