A cartoon sailplane explains the workings of a local soaring club and its members. Tommy the 2-33 takes viewers on a short ride which is known as a “Sled Ride” to soaring pilots. After Tommy flies into a thermal and gains some altitude he flies out of the thermal and lands. Along the way he meets up with a few of his fellow club members such as Wally the Winch, Billy the Blanik and Charlie the Chickenhawk.
