XXXII OSTIV Congress, Leszno, Poland: Call for Papers

The XXXII Congress of the “International Scientific and Technical Organisation for Soaring Flight” — Organisation Scientific et Technique Internationale du Vol a` Voile (OSTIV) — will be held at the site of the 33rd FAI World Gliding Championships in the Open, 18m and 15m Class, at Leszno, Poland from 30 July to 6 August, 2014.

Simplifying the IGC Sporting Code for Gliding

At the 2013 IGC Plenary Meeting in Papendal the Sporting Code Committee put forward a discussion paper suggesting that it was time to make a radical revision of the Sporting Code for Gliding. This was accepted and the Committee has now begun the work to achieve this.

New Version of FAI Sporting Code

The new version of the Sporting Code, Section 3 Gliding, to take effect on 1st October 2012, is now available on the IGC section of the FAI website. There are a number of new provisions as approved by the IGC Plenary meeting in March.

105th FAI general conference took place on 11th – 16th of October 2011 in Belgrade, Serbia. During the opening ceremony various awards, medals and diplomas were presented for aviation personalities who have contributed in aeronautical disciplines. The most honourable award in soaring discipline – Lilienthal medal, was presented for Reiner Rose there.
