Spin Training last weekend, First Solo soon!

It is not easy to depict my busy weekend… during these 2 days I just had 3-3 take-offs, but there were brand new challenges for me.

Unluckily the weather was not the best, even so we started the flying day at midday. On Saturday the wind from the south was strong, but on Sunday we had light breeze from the north. On both days we felt a few spots of rain, sometimes it was raining heavily, but we avoided rainstorms.

At first I was supposed to fly with veiled control panel. One of the boys stabilized the plastic sheet happily but I was worrying a bit with a pillow in my hand. It’s okay, that I know the velocity because I hear the wind, but how can I find out the altitude precisely?

However, I knew that on Saturday I will have an other challenge, a much bigger challenge: spin training. Then in the air I realized that it is not a big deal to fly without instruments…but the spin was a great novelty for me. I was so excited before the take-off. I left the time measuring book on the table and I asked more experienced pilots to speak about their observations about spin. Oh my God, it will be totally new for me: my first aerotow, my first task with parachute and of course, my first spin.

The aerotow was an exciting experience in itself, over the ground (just 1 meter!) and the incredible velocity (130 km/h). We were rising until 1000 metres (although it was not necessary) and the instructor showed me a standard spin. I was wondering and worrying: at first: silence, and a moment later noisy wind and spinning towards the ground. At the end, I felt that my face was expanded.

With a little help at the beginning I tried to continue the instructions and I started to feel that I enjoy it, especially on the next day when I knew what would happen soon.

I was so tired after the weekend, I had to concentrate seriously, but in my bed at night I felt the spins again…wow, this is a real adrenaline-bomb!

It is funny that after a lot of spins I couldn’t see food and I had to wait a bit to try to eat again. I also refused to eat one of my favorites, the delicious waffle with hazelnut chocolate spread. This experience was not ordinary for me.

Now I am thinking about the future, my future plans… I am waiting for my first solo, it is unbelievable, but I will have it soon. Next week or two weeks later! :) I know that it is still not a great boast, after all it is a new milestone and it shows me that I did the first steps successfully. I am sure that it is a time consuming free-time activity for me, and not just a new treat.
