Kevin Anderson got off work Friday, May 24th, around noon, then went out to Knoxville’s Downtown Island Airport (KDKX) to fly his Silent. He got going somewhere around 1:30 PM and did a little out and return up the Clinch ridge to Bluefield, West Virginia and back. Got seven new TN records out of it! Clinch looked pretty sorry in the morning with low clouds, but good winds. It had improved late in the afternoon in time for Kevin to get out and back. Who would have thought you would have time to do a 500K after lunch in Tennessee? He did the round trip in under five hours—In his Silent club class motor glider, which has a 31 to 1 L/D and a handicap of 1.21 … Fantastic job, Kevin!
