How can I better start talking about the new European season then with some great pictures by ELFRO made during the 2010 Pribina Cup at Nitra in Slovakia.
The Pribina Cup is I guess the biggest competetion in Europe with 150 participants and on top of that the 4 winners from 2012.It has a great organization, [ by lot’s of experience and a well known competition Director Vladimir Voltin] as I heard from several people and a great area to fly over.
Early in the season, from March 30 till April 6, the well known Pribina Cup will be the goal to reach by many pilots, who love flying in Nitra. 50 pilots in each of the 4 classes are allowed with as said a total max. of 150 participants.
Of course the champions from last year can fly to defend their titles and ” will be admitted in addition to the above limits, but they must, however, follow the online registration procedures as other pilots.We trust you understand that such criteria must have been introduced in order to deal with the possible over registration in a fair way.–”

A bit later FATRAGLIDE 2013 will be flown, from May 4 till May 12 2013, a Spring Mountain Competition also in Slovakia not far from Nitra.One of the participants is G Dale. The organisation is in the good hands of my friends Tibor, Brano and Wanda.

What can we expect more for this upcoming season?
A bit later in the season the 7th WWGC in Issoudun in France from 29 June to 13 July 2013.
The 8th JWGC will be in Lezno in Poland from 28 July to 10 August 2013
The 17 th EGC , European Championships for 15 m. , 18m. and open class are in Vinon France, from 08 June to 21 June 2013.
The 17 th EGC, European Championships for club , standard and 20 m. class as well as world class in Ostrow Poland from 05 July to 21 July 2013.

Narromine skies.
Looking ahead is great, but looking NOW is good as well, as Australia shows us still great flights. A 1000 on February 5 from Corowa in a Ventus CT /18m., on February 6 in Narromine [FAI TRIANGLE] in a Ventus 2 CM./18m. and Tocumwal in an ARCUS M.
As said before it is pretty late in the season already, days are really getting shorter there and longer here, but they still expect more !!!!

While some are still having lot’s of fun we suffered from showers with rain, hail and wet snow. This weekend is colder but DRY and more sunny! Finally!!!
I should not complain as Germany has even more problems and 7 people got killed on the slippery roads only on Wednesday.
