Great Uvalde skies…but I hear it is not going so fast on track!??!Updated!

16.00 update:
Pilots started and of course “played games again”. Some TC’s just bring in the times one minute before the allowed set time, which is 30 minutes.
So the last pilot to leave today in this class were the UK pilots at 14.19. The first  was A! from Denmark at time 13.44. So a difference of 35 minutes.

In 18 m. the first pilots to leave were the youngest in the Dutch team Stefan Huiskes with my boss WE , Bill Elliott at 14.07 and 14.08. Have to tell him tonight that some people can’t read us anymore as my laptop has been “attacked ” by a bad virus yesterday. Sorry about that, we look in to it tonigh. AVG stopped harm to the laptop but some readers now get the message that reading my blog is “dangerous” .IT IS NOT!!!!!
Back to 18 m. , the last ones to start where from the USA and France at 14.27.

In open class the first pilot to go on track was the Polish Nimbus pilot,at 13.37. The last ones Team USA with DB in the Concordia and Ron in the ASW22 but the very last was Pete Harvey in the Antares. 13.23/24.

So another interesting day certainly cause the wind from the SE is strong today!!! Sometimes I have to close my laptop.In 18 m. pilots seem to be close to TP 4 which means they have flown already nearly 300 km and are on their way to TP 5 far up N. with the wind in the back over 155 km. But then they come back over 137 km. and that might slow them down as the wind is from the SE. Looking forward to the stories tonigh at the International Party as normally you don’t see the pilots a lot. They “hide” in their AC houses or sit in their pools after flying.

17.30 update;it’s a long day of waiting. Thought you might like some pictures courtesy by Frans, the top photographer.

18.00 update ;The CD drives out to the field in his golf car, so are the “orange” helpers in 3 golf cars and behind me all people from different countries are making the inside of the big white tent nice with tables and flags. Team USA and team UK look already as if they are finished.

GAGGLE TALK;

—got the most beautiful present from Les my landlord , he created “art in  steel ” a glider in Texas! Fantastic!!!

—some tiny little visitors today only 6 weeks out. Her brother celebrating his 2d birthday wanted as a gift a visit to the airport to see the gliders. What do you want more?

An only 6 weeks old visitor and …a bit older little Fin not a real visitor as he nearly spends all his time on airfields as child from Chrissie and Uli [TC Germany]

—when there is no rain, they make rain…the sand strips are sprayed with water. Good less dust tomorrow.

INTERNATIONAL PARTY tonight, not a lot of food as you can’t keep it “good” here , but enough to drink….and small snacks….You hear it tomorrow. Nice picture from “THE ” tent, courtesy to my Dutch friends.CU tomorrow it was a long dusty and windy day.
