Gliders are Launched at the Moment!

13.00: Just came back from the field. Great service by the organizers. Andreea [MEDIA] brought me and Richard, in charge of the grounds—as strip [sand] and launch area [runway/taxiway] and tie-down area—took me back to be in time to inform you about the opening of the start in each class.

They started maybe one minute later, due to a problem with one tow plane, but  another was called in quickly.
One glider in open class arrived back in front of a tuggie—GP-Patrick Stouffs. No problem, nice but long landing on the tarmac.

Buzzards were flying high over the field making one person say: “If they can fly that high, all glider pilots can fly”.

Met the task setter, John Good, who is also the assistant CD. He loves juggling with four balls to relax.

Task for open class opens at : 13.51.
Task for 18 m. class opens at : 13.51.
Task for 15m. class opens at : 14.26.

Spoke to one of the scorers, Ron. For those interested, you can find the start times straight away after the launch at www.soaringspot.com . Also outlandings will be automatically on after a pilot lands out, with an estimated distance. Great service!

One glider tries to find lift on the east of the field; he finds it and climbs up again, not fast but lift is lift. All other gliders are HIGH up.

15 M. launches still in progress[13.51]. The other two classes are able to go on track.

All the nails are painted with the Danish flag.

— Got two chairs around the table now as well. They call my table now the Barbara Walters table and the chairs are for the interviews as so many people drop in to say good bye or just to have a few words. SUPER!

—We have three ladies flying here: Alena, Susanne and Lisa and they did well yesterday amid all those men. Lisa was in spot 6, Susanne in spot 9 and Alena in spot 13. Go go go girls!!!!
Sarah the female tuggie has left for a few days but will be back.
