Briefing is over and tasks for today!

It’s 11 and I am back in “my” tent, the same place where tonight at 8 PM or when the pilots are back a party will be organized by the Austrian team who takes care of the food and the German team bringing in 96 gallons of beer. Everybody  seemed to like that as both teams were sheered on!

Tasks for today; Quite a few pilots take a day off , to fly tomorrow again on the last practise day.

15 m. a 420.1 km. racing task
18 m. 470.6 km
open class 557.7 km

The Belgium Team after Briefing with Arnaud as TC and co pilot from Pierre de Broqueville and his brother Benjamin listening to the r. who flies in the back with Patrick. And..both Pierre and Patrick and the rest of the team brothers Baudouin and Emanuel Litt, sons from the wellknonw Belgium female pilot Georgette Litt , listening. The Litt’s  fly in 15m. class.

And the father of the 2 young de Broquevilles an enhusiast crew AND pilot at home, who knows a lot about soaring history.

Tasks for today not too long again,  as indeed yesterday the temperature reached a record century-high since 1912 here in Texas with 106 F which is 41 dgr. C and at Uvalde it was 102 F.!!!!!!
The weather today is hot and dry again with a max of 39.5 dgr C . The High seems to weaken so it might be a bit cooler over the next days ,but I hear it could be even HOTTER tomorrow!!!! Let’s wait and see.
Yesterday pilots flying over the mountain area reached 12.000 ft. The High Terrain supports the high thermals according to the kind meteo man Dan. Today the mountains will have 10.500 ft and a temperature of 41 dgr.

Kiki , coach from the Italian team, Bruce Taylor Team Australia and Dan Gudgel always dressed for the occasion.

Kerry/Linda had social items as the party tonight but also a party on Friday, the Pre Worlds party and the message to be prepared and put in your agenda another party, THE USA  on Tuesday.
Further on the Parade will start at 9 AM on Saturday and the Opening Ceremonie at 10 AM.Only 6 flags to go to have them all.

Winners got their gift, pilots were warned to NOT leave their tail dolly on at the grid , cause of the heavy thermals and dustdevils sometimes going through….  and now you are up to date with the pictures from todays briefing to go.

Yesterdays winners in 15m. class Steven Raimond with his wife/crew Marion and Mark Leeuwenburg.
