A change in task!

12.40 ;TC meeting at the front of the grid at 12.45. for a chance in the 15 m. class task. AND…
The sniffer goes up to check the circumstances. First messages 4.5kts.  at 5000 ft. VERY BLUE today!
15 m. now has a C task….one sector less for them is all I know by now….B tasks were already handed out at briefing …they were shorter in time.[half an hour]

Wind sock…. horizontal – dust at the launch area…as yesterday…and tuggies are not yet at the field….CD KEN mentioned again … 13.25 first launch!

14.20 ; the tuggies marched out of Mark’s AC  office and the engines are roaring NOW. The AG plane goes out as well, covering the “poor ” tuggies in a layer of red dust!
the CD says..you can go….It might be the dust but I count 11 today!

FIRST LAUNCH SCHEDULED AT 13.25!

AND……the question to the  CD  was ,”do we have a go..? ”
and “yes you can go when you are ready “……….at 13.25 at the dot!!!
Day 11 is on!!!!

Spoke with a few pilots and some do NOT like the “waiting game” at the start and the way pilots look at each other and follow each other. Some would love to see a regatta start for each class.
One of the pilots I was talking to is David Jansen. He won yesterday by avoiding “all played games,” going on track as the first and being back as the first, seeing NOBODY during his trip.

You can see the inversion from here, pilots are not TOO high yet in a gaggle at the W. of the field. That means..see…..if the sand/dust disappears, wow a lot of dust again.
By the way my bike had a “flat ” tyre. They looked at it in Huffs hangar where it is now upside down. wes took the tyre to find the “hole”. And then I ride it again.Great to have a bike here.

start in 15 m.opens at 14.28

start in 18 m. opens at 15.03

start in open opens at 14.29

GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!!!

16.00 ; The skies indeed changed at 3 , nice clouds to the E., slowly going to the SE now and S..
Pilots however go up S.. first then W. and then N. and back. I show you 18 m. and open as I am not sure if they changed to the C task of 15 m. on soaringspot.

Task for 18 m and open class.

GAGGLE-TALK;

—so nice to catch up here with some Danish friends flying with us in Tocumwal in the past. Ole and his brother Jörgen Arndt are here. On their way to find a motel now. They stay for 2 days so Ole who was here in 1991 , will be part of the 1991 reunion tomorrow. They brought greetings from Ib, so greetings back Ib  and CU in Tocumwal in the beginning of 2013.

On the above pictures Max,who provides me all day with drinks as a THANK YOU,
[not necessary but very much appreciated]
Rick, never knew he was partly Danish!!!
and Jörgen, who was really pleased to see his country-fellows.

—You can see the comps go to an end. More people in the tent and  more overseas guests, which is marvellous!

—At 4 pm it is quiet here again. People have gone to the pool, their  room or shopping.

—some tuggies by Andreea , by the way some pictures yesterday were hers too.On top Sarah the one and only female tuggie here, courtesy Andreea.
