12.40 …day 12…with one day to go here in sunny Uvalde.

12.36 ; Tuggies drive to the launch area, for the 12.40- first- launch, on day 12 from  the possible 13. Another long day ahead!!!

12.40 ;the first gliders are behind the tugs on both run/and taxiway.
DAY 12 has started!!!
AND ….nearly NO DUST!!!!!!
Thank you to Richard, who organized this! A huge difference with yesterday when pilots had to wipe their canopies first before going up, as they could not see the tug in front of them. I even heard that when a dust devil passed the wing -runner could not see his pilot. It can be THAT bad!

start opens for 15 m. at 14.07
start opens for 18 m. at 13.35
start opens for open at 13.40

Task for 15 m. class and open class on day 12.

13.45 ; So they are on their way in 18 m and open class now and 15 m. is nearly launched. Heard indeed some stress on the radio today.

15.00 ; update, pilots should be on their way by now, as they surely will have in the back of their head the possible seabreeze later in the day  and even more important with this long task….the finish line closes at 20.01. Sunset is at 20.16.So pilots should be back latest at 8 PM. to be in time for speed points.
In 15 m. all TC’s have entered the start times for their pilots and they are between 14.13 and 14.43 for a 618.4 km. task. Pilots have 6TP’s  and come back from the lasdt one in the S. over  131 km. their longest leg today.
In 18 m. only 10 entrees at this stage between 13.52 and 14.12.
In open class all pilots have started between 13.57 and 14.24 for a task from 685.1 km.They go first up N. then a leg from N. to S. from 171 km and 147 km and then back home for another 202 km.

16.00 ; update! The rest of the 18 m. pilot-start-times are on now as well. The last pilot started at 14.28 for 653 km.. Pilots in open class were on their way from TP 2 to 3 I just noticed on the not yet real time of the Tracking system.

17.00 ;update. Skies here are just fantastic and it “sounds”that pilots have fantastic conditions as well. It might be the last day with this extremely hot and dry weather even for the local people. From tomorrow onwards there will be a change to lower temperatures and more rainy conditions are fore casted for next week. We will be home then!
