Briefing is over! Happy faces and twinkling eyes!

The Jonker brothers Attie and Uys.

Briefing is over and the grid time for pr.day 4 is 12.40 and the first launch is planned for 13.10
Tasks for 15 m. class is 545.9 km.
18 m. 548.7 km. and
open 593.8 km.
Tasks are a bit smaller to not wear out the pilots before it really starts. The weather is pretty demanding here.

The CD started with an introduction of a few important people and volunteers , one of the them 1991 CD Mark Huffstutler. He “does things” in the back ground, but made p.e one of his hangars available for scruteneering. His son Conrad has in his hangar oxigen available.
Kerry still needs 16 flags from the different coutries and on the social site there will be a Pre-Comp party on Friday evening.
The winning pilots from yesterday got their daily prize and I told you earlier that I have a good feeling about Killian, so has Eric , his TC, as he advised the CD to learn how to pronouce his name well as he expects he might use the name more often in the future.

Some problems still with the landings so some extra attention for that and pilots should not block the runway after landing, they can even get penalties for that and new to me, those penalty points can be taken to the real comps.

When you ask pilots who have flown here during practise for the first time, as well as pilots who have been here before, how they experienced flying over Uvalde soil they first smile , their eyes twinkle and then they just say it is brilliant flying here, as if they have just eaten the biggest cake with whipped cream and a cherry on top! As Arne just said also with a big smile, “you feel like a child in a candy shop”. So that sounds good.
Weather will follow soon, in this same blog,  but the “real”weather is also to be found on the offical site.

Weather; The very kind and VERY good meteo-man  as far as I can judge, started with the words:”Blue is not what you saw yesterday” as there were fantastic clouds yesterday.
A “high” is dominating this area and the trigger temperature will be today at 94F/34.5 C. ,3300 ft AGL at 13.00CDT plus 30 minutes. The wind will  be a bit less then yesterday from the SE again with 7-12 kt.

Australian Beryl Hartley as TC for Japan, French Kiki as coach for Team Italy and Ricardo Brigliadori as pilot for Italy, all at the briefing.
