OLC Magazine: On Tuesday, April 10th, Jim Payne completed his fifth 1000+ point OLC flight of 2012 in the Sierra wave with co-pilot Dennis Tito in the latter’s DG-1001M. Conditions were blue for most of the flight and the pair got low enough to fire up the engine once, but they continued for another several hours to earn speed points (130 kph = 80.6 mph). At this writing, Jim is ~1,110 points ahead of 2nd place Ron Schwartz in the U.S. OLC competition and Robert Spielman of Nevada is third. Jim also ranks 4th in the worldwide OLC contest.
