Day 7 wrap up and start of Day 8

Sorry for the late post, too many tasks!  Anyway Day 7 is done and all ships made it home safely.  A cool front had draped over the area and make for uncertain weather and anxiety for the task committee.  The day saw lower speeds and lower TOL than all earlier days.  Gary Intner, P7, won the day with 263 miles at 75 MPH.  A few low saves were accomplished in the weaker areas caused by shading and smoke.

Day 8 dawned with more consistent weather and soaring forecasts, though many contestants are skeptical.  The task is

Duration is 3.5 hours. The CD, John Godfrey really wanted a 4 hour or longer task but the forecast was too uncertain and the terrain around Hobbs can be unforgiving.

All pilots are launched moving along the course line at a decent pace.
