Day 4 at the Standard Class Nationals

Hello everyone…

Well, today was my day to be stomped on ……mainly by myself..but first lets go with the good stuff.  An AT was called  going south to Moultry, NE to Vidalia and home west to the finish for 255 miles. To some the wx. was perfect to great Phil Gaisford (PG) clocking in over 74 mph followed by Mike Smith XM , two Guest Baude Litt and Dave Springford in the 70’s. They had fun while some of us dragged anchor chains and hit more sink than lift ( Is that possible?).

Folks , since I’m writing I can only say for myself. I could not connect any dots today and kept pushing on between 3 and 4500′ looking for the great climb that only came twice to be followed by a Shuttle glide. The top boys had it all figured out and impress us all. Oh, since the two Guest DON’T COUNT, let me put Todd Wichman name up on the board for finishing third. Your author was 12th loser, give or take a number.

BBQ tonight at the Ramada with another day tomorrow. Sunday has been declared rest day by CD Galloway.  Still a perfect contest with no drips, runs , or errors. A knot in the towrope is about it. I have to hand it to CM Hartley Falbaum who is a cast of 20 on his own. A man with quick wit at the am meetings and I seriously doubt he has ever been mad. As mild as they come.

Y’all be good now, ya ‘ear.
