The weather continues to be great with 8+ kts thermals to 7000′ bases. The conditions are becoming a little trickier with many pilots frustrated with dishonest clouds. A few blue holes had to be dealt with and timing upset more than a few.
A 3.5 TAT was called and everyone started quickly after the gate opened at 13:55. Chip Garner would earn 1000 with a speed of 74+. David Greenhill would take second and Phil Gaisford third only to be bumped to 4th after earning a 5 pt finish penalty. It is still a horse race with 2/3 to go.
Sidebar: Rich Owens flying an LS-8 got stuck over the final turnpoint Montezuma and allowed patience to bring him home……Baude Litt is cutting teeth on a new ??8000 glide instrument and at times sees a boat anchor I’m sure….and Jr Team member Boyd Wilat turned in his first 71+ speed (East of the Mississippi).
