Klaus Ohlmann and the Mountain Wave Project on French / German TV

ARTE presents "Riding the Winds"

ARTE presents "Riding the Winds"

For those who haven't had the chance yet to watch this, here is just a quick link to a very informative movie a friend (BTW not a pilot...) just submitted to me. You will meet Klaus Ohlmann at his home airfield and together with the Mountain Wave Project's members exploring the Andes, witness a family dinner and receive a lot of background information. Of course some stunning mountain views! The movie is dated from 2007 and it follows Klaus' missions before his latest Himalaya expedition.

Unfortunately the documentary is in German language - not sure if it will be available all over the world? Maybe you can also find the French version, if you prefer? You will need almost an hour to watch it. So try it, sit back and enjoy it!

Elke Fuglsang-Petersen

Elke Fuglsang-Petersen started soaring after she finished her school and college education and found herself locked into a small office for the next 45 years. In German soaring clubs she met a lot of new friends, enjoyed a great way to get out, could see things from a different angle, and gained a better overview.

Meanwhile, she has traveled a bit, flown a lot, and lived in the US.She is happy to now know glider pilots from the US too and says, “they are as amiable as everywhere on the world.” She feels fortunate to have found a temporary soaring home in Boulder, surely one of the best and most scenic places to fly on Earth!

That’s too bad! I know this happens sometimes. Usually it is just the other way round. Some great videos are not available here because of different publication laws or other issues. Well, as long as we have oceans between the continents, there will be differences in laws and culture. Makes life even more interesting:)
I’ll now check out the French video, see if I can improve my languages…

    Elke,

there is a French version at http://www.arte.tv/guide/fr/037367-000/360-geo, for anyone who can get access.

However, I get the same message of “This video is not available …”.
