Cockpit footage flying a new Utah state gliding record (if approved) of 500km out and return for the 15 meter and Open class sailplane categories from Nephi, Utah. The old record was 68 miles per hour and this flight looks like it did the course at over 89 mph (143 km) - Fun!

The glider, an ASW27, is a 15 meter (50 feet) wing span high performance aircraft capable of flying over 180 mph, up to altitudes where airliners go, and can glide 48 miles for every mile up. Nephi Utah is about 60 miles south of Salt Lake City and is quickly becoming known as "the place to fly" for amazing glider flights. Thanks for watching! Bruno

Bruno Vassel IV started flying at the age of 2. After a few stitches he found he needed more lift than just jumping off the stairs. He flew in his first sailplane at the age of 20 and had his license two months later.Bruno currently flies an ASW27B based in Nephi, Utah after previously flying an ASW20 and a Phoebus. Bruno started taking videos of some of his flights a few years ago and has really enjoyed sharing his soaring experiences with others. His videos have been featured on the Weather Channel and have been watched online over 2 million times. Bruno's goal is to some day stop moving the stick so damn much and fly a perfectly cored thermal...he has a long ways to go. You can find his youtube soaring channel at www.youtube.com/bviv.
