Breaking News – Maiden Flight of Schleicher’s ASG 32 Mi

32 erstflug 004 1200Last Saturday, May 31st, the weather in the heart of the German soaring country was beautiful. The Rhön mountains provided perfect conditions to launch and try out Schleicher’s newest ship, the two-seater D-KBAS, alias ASG 32 Mi, for the first time in her life. Together with CEO Peter Kremer the designer of the latest Schleicher model Michael Greiner took the very first aero tow to get the 20m wingspan up above Poppenhausen. The ship met all the engineers’ expectations. For her second launch CEO Uli Kremer used the ASG 32 Mi’s engine to get airborne. Looks perfect on the pictures! Several more flights were done during the nice spring day, and senior partner Edgar Kremer reported excellent manoeuvrability as well as great thermalling characteristics. The photo story of a successful Saturday at Schleicher’s gliderport can be found here. Enjoy!
