… and for the first time in history it is a woman! The German record pilot Susanne Schoedel will start her new assignment with the FAI in March. Susanne who just returned from a gliding camp in Bitterwasser, and supplied the world of soaring with good news is currently busy with the German women soaring pilots who have their annual “Hexentreffen” (that’s where the witches meet…) this weekend. So here’s just a short link to the FAI’s official announcement, where we can learn a little more about Susanne’s professional background: The designated FAI Secretary General has studied political sciences and over several years worked successfully with several non-profit organizations. Adding her international experience and achievements in the sport of soaring the new job sounds like the perfect fit. Congratulations!
