The US Team suffered a setback yesterday when Bill Snead withdrew from the competition. After considering the condition of his glider and his personal state of preparedness in this environment, Bill decided that he would not be able to compete safely.
This was disappointing news for the Team, but it was the right decision. The rest of us salute Bill for putting safety first. Bill and Nancy have left for home.
