Tracking system!First flight!

After a nice lunch , the day continued.

lunch “at work”.

It’s  5 o’clock. Pilots have left for the A task , so after their deparure they all fly a min. of 3.15.
In between it is a bit more busy in the tent and that pleases me for the traders. It’s also very hot!

Got a few visitors again and that’s the good thing from being outside instead of in an office, the other side that it is much cooler in an office is a fact as well. Got the pillow so I am sitting much more comfortable. The sad news one of my Aussie guests Mr. Maddocks had was a fatal accident from a junior in the mountains a couple of days ago. He has 2 flying- sons himself , one Andrew is flying his 3d JWGC in Poland in Leszno next year where he is for practise in standard class now at the moment.
One of the vistors was the PR person from the comps, who happens to regular read my blogs. Nice! One of the leaflets I found in town says” the 32d FAI World Gliding Championships, The Olympics of gliding” like that! AND… “Surround your self with adventure”. Then in the middle of the action of launching  and roaring engines over the tent, a lady from town comes to me and asks ,”When is the best time to see the action”.

Richard Maliedy, the USA TC I met in Rieti , I was talking about this morning, visited and told me that  the reason the pilots had to move their gliders to compress the grid was that half of the pilots choose not to fly. But….he flew…as he was invited to go up with the ARCUS for the sniffer flight. He made some pictures IN the air of the Concordia from the ARCUS, and when they are good I get a few.

They are working in the tent now to put a TV on , I guess for scores and more, hopefully tracking!!! So a bit hectic….nice, action! For those who don’t know , you can virtually fly with the pilots by following the tracking system, by clicking on the word on the official site.

Leave you now with young Parker who went up in a glider for the first time in his life and was all excited. Eduardo Iglesias took out the Schweizer 2/33 for a nice , but a bit bumpy ride with Parker. He smiled from ear to ear. For the scores from todays flights please go to the official site. Thanks! Saw a few gliders back , but there is no big action. Around 34 only choose to fly, as I heard.
