Not the Easiest Circumstances—Updated All the Time.

16.00: It looks like the showers have reached the area quicker then expected. 18 M. class called for rain at the first TP, some only had a few drops and  a group of pilots seemed to have reached the TP.

The sniffer has been just packed in the trailer, due to the expected weather circumstances. One of the showers heads to Uvalde.

The San Antonio thunderstorm looks to dry out, but the one S from the task is coming closer to Uvalde and the pilots. A lot of people are close to their radios in their team hut. Others are here looking at the TV with weather and tracking.

At this stage looking at the tracking system, which has a delay of 15 minutes, the open class pilots pilots EB [Michel Sommer ] and CA [Pete Harvey] are at 16.00 at height 1820 and 1636 m . They might run into another shower at their next TP. They have a great system here to look at the tracking; at 4PM it will be 5 minutes from the real time and at 5 it will run at real time. You can follow the pilots yourself by clicking on the tracking system.

SMS has sent out to TC’s to tell them to secure the trailers. Is this a thunderstorm warning??

17.30: It gets more dark here and the sky is covered  by a layer of clouds now, but sometimes the sun finds it way through it. To the W it still looks reasonably good. The wind is picking up as well.

When a pilot in 15 m and open class has started straight away, they could start with 1 minute difference, they could be back at around 6 , when they are fast and had no problems. I read on sites that pilots reach a speed of 147 km./h. That sounds good again! I am hopeful and put the radio on the landing frequency.
Who is here follows the tracking, the weather and the pilots on iPhones, iPads, radios and phones. The soaring world has changed since 1991.

17.45: Excitement grows here. The Finnish team is talking to their pilot, the wind in between is REALLY strong. Have to keep my lapt, while the first pilot is coming in. HOPE THEY SEE THE RUNWAY AS THERE IS A LOT OF SAND just over it. One open class glider is back at 17.50. Safe landing. Missed his call sign sorry due to the music, but the volume is down now. Did he fly the whole task, is the question here?

18.00: M6 CALLS  10 K; he had as I read on the German site “4.8 m. lift, his ticket home”…A Diana finished nice long landing…Sorry WH was an incoming POWER PLANE…one of the ladies is coming in I guess SE with Susanne from Germany and another DIANA lands in front of her…ZZ…AX… 10 km. …….AX is very clear over the radio at 18.10, wish they were all so loud and clear!!!!…..EY finished ring… gliders are 15m.

I see open class is trying to fly around the showers; that will give some delay. More power planes try to land in between 100 gliders. Sometimes that disturbs the radio. 18 m. seems to be on final glide [update 18.25]

18.21: coming in or 10 k out or on finish AJ, the other female pilot…..WO, loud and clear love that ..LM…8H loud and clear great…..KT  finished…2T.?..MSI..finish …MC finish..
18.25: PC…5C…8H finish and a few more are coming in. CD 8 km…MP  8 km…PL downwind…
I tried to get the  call signs for you but with a nice country and western singer next to me it is complicated. But scores should be on soon.

18.30: No rain here, no thunderstorms still possible to come home. Tough wind though. Dark in the S and E.
AL …finish, I…finish… they come in behind each other, some parallel on the taxi-and runways, all landings looked very disciplined….
18.40: MR …XG finish…st

18.43: see open class glider finish. It looks the gliders beat the weather today. Good on them. The first landing was in fact the most difficult one here. Compliments to M6.

For all the correct scores [ I only try to give you a small opinion from who came in without checking as that is not possible], you can go to the official site
