Dansville Day 2 (Region 3)

Anyone want to buy a glider, cheap?  I’m selling mine and getting out of the sport.  Just when I was starting to think I had developed some skill at this game, along comes a day like today to show me how much I don’t know.  Today was a great day for a lot of pilots, but I couldn’t find my rear end with both hands, and wound up dead last for the day in the FAI class.  I was so slow that the scorer had to use a calendar to calculate my score.  If I had been any slower, I’d still be flying as I write this, at 9pm!

Anyway, it was a great (looking) day, with clouds in all quadrants with 6000 to 7000′ msl cloudbases and reasonably light winds.  Unfortunately for me, I just couldn’t manage to find the lift under the clouds.  Others reported having trouble too, but not anywhere near as much as I found.

Oh well, the weather forecast for tomorrow (and the rest of the week, actually) is for mostly sunny skies, and (hopefully) good soaring weather.  My plan is to hope the soaring fairy leaves me a new brain overnight, because clearly the one I’m using right now has some pieces missing

Stay tuned,

Frank
