Drying from the strong temperature inversion did indeed mix drier air and dissipated the morning stratus field around Uvalde.  However, temperature forecasts right on-trend and thermal altitudes initially low just after launch.  Around 1500CDT altitudes began to deepen.  Clouds east of Cotulla with clouds east of Uvalde and showing some streeting around Cotulla with consistent lift rates 5 to 7kts. Some cumulus also appearing over the eastern Hill Country at mid-afternoon. Click on picture for full image.
