A “powerless” morning! Short tasks due to weather!!!

9.15 ; There seems to be a wide spread problem [ also the whole High School area!] with electricity this morning, so I have started writing in word as internet connections are not available as well.
A bit of a  problem for the vendors here, as they “make” Texas shaved ice and keep burgers in fridges.

A bit of a weird morning after the rest- day , as when I looked outside this morning the skies looked the same as a rainy day in Holland. But now at 9 the sun is burning a lot away already and skies look mainly blue! Looking forward to Dan’s meteo- forecast today, so off to the briefing.

11.00 ; An interesting briefing with loud speaking men and women! No internet , but great organizers as they still found a way to get the tasks printed:

Here they are .
AAT’s today 2.15 for 15 m. class and
2.30 for 18m. and open class.

Grid closes at 12.00 and the first expected launch will be at 12.20.

We can enter the public net now but still cannot have a connection at 12.15 here in the tent. So I continue in word.

The weather today will be challenging as isolated thunderstorms might come from the hills in the N. to Uvalde, they could be going together with even more gusty winds then a few day’s ago; up to 40 kts.

Teams were introduced this time team UK and by far the UK TC had the best voice for a powerless morning. After Roberto introduced his Italian team and Beryl her Japanese team.

Winners from day 7 were mentioned but you know them already and the
TEAM CUP has changed. 1 is now Germany, 2  Poland and 3 the UK.

The precious Texas flag is now on the German table.

Chief steward Dick Bradley, had a few more issues on safety  as a few potential dangerous situations occurred and warned pilots to remain alert now they feel more comfortable/ relaxed  after 2 weeks of flying here, with their  friends in the air. Stay focussed, fly safely!

Back on line on 12.30 HURRAY. THANKS!!!!
Met Tilo Holighaus this morning.

What’s more to be said!
—The INTERNATIONAL NIGHT will be tomorrow!!!

— a big -THANK- YOU -applause for Kerry Huffstutler  who organised a splendid and relaxing day out yesterday.
