What happened more at briefing today:
Ken started again with what a great day we had yesterday. No complaints from the pilots but now….complaints from the crews that pilots were back too early.

The USA TC introduced his team so did the Argentinian TC and Mandy the TC from Australia. Specially Lisa was cheered on and kissing her husband Peter  she showed that they were not brother and sister but husband and wife. As I guess the one and only couple ever flying in a WGC. Good on them!

Winners from yesterday got an envelope , do not know what was in it, and it was specially mentioned that Matthias , who you see on the top picture to the left with his team mate David , was cheered on as number 1 for the day for the 2d time!
The differences in the classes in the overall scores are very small. Come back on that later.

A happy Mac, [2d yesterday!] talking to Tassilo Bode from Germany and sitting at briefing.
His fan club is cheering him on!

The Team Cup is still in the hands / on the table of the Polish pilots. On spot 2 is South Africa and on 3 France.

There was time to introduce the Safety committee and time to let chief steward Dick Bradley talk about…. AND show us a track which  got us ALL VERY silent!!!!
As there were some complaints ,he spoke about the behaviour of pilots in gaggles and while cruising. Specially about distances in height and while cruising. We saw 8m height difference but also 4 and 33 m. between gliders cruising !!!!! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING should happen then, or you can touch.
So to a very silent and impressed crowd he said again; DO LOOK OUT FOR EACH OTHER!!!!!SO….BE CAREFUL ALL!!!!!!

Sunday will be a RESTDAY and everybody is invited to go to a camp area where are all possibilities to do nice things . Every half hour a bus will drive up and down to bring who ever wants to go there.

THE WEATHER;
Dan the [weather] man, showed us why yesterday was so good and mentioned that today might be different. There is still a strong high, but….in the North Central part of Texas they expect some active thunderstorms. They might give later in the afternoon some problems here as well. For that reason there will be a B task as well same as A but smaller. They monitor it closely and will ….if necessary inform the TC’s at the grid if there will be change in the task. At this stage they do not think that this will happen.

—lift will be up to 3m at 2 PM and 4m at 4 PM
—wind light and later the usual SE flow with 7-12 k.
—Max altitude 9500
—Max temperature 38 dgr.
—the lower air is still moist.
It was very nice to see Michel Sommer, the current World Champion congratulate and talk with a huge smile with Dick Butler. What a rewarding day it was for him yesterday as well as for Gerhard Waibel and Loek Boermans.

Off to the open class launch area today! It’s 11.50 now .10 More minutes before the grid closes, the sniffer Peter drives to his ARCUS and…nice little clouds pop up , but….unfortunately disappear as well. Dan mentioned already less clouds for today. Blue skies at the moment here and a very light wind. But far to the SSE, I see clouds!
One tuggie goes out to the field for the sniffer.[12.05]
12.15 they are up now as well as 2 other tow planes, maybe a check flight???

So time for some GAGGLE TALK
—and  show you the most lovely guest from yesterday.  The son from the German TC Uli and his lovely wife Chrissie. He has been in his short life already all over the world. What a gorgeous little boy!

— Forgot the friendly bulls name but it is OREO!
Quite a few sat on his back and take a “YAHOOOOOOO”momentum”  home .

—still did not find out who won the rides in the P51 with Mark Huffstutler. Heard a Canadian and a European might have had the highest bid. Will get details surely later.

 BACK LATER………. STYAND BY!!!
