March 3rd at Seminole – winded out

No flying today at Seminole – 20-30kt from the south with higher gusts.  Most of us tried to fill the day with other activities, and my mission for the day was to drive to Ocala (about 1 hour north) to get a replacement thermostat for the Micro-castle after the current one stopped displaying room or set temperatures.  Got the replacement, carefully wired it in, only to discover that it exhibited the exact same symptoms – go figure.

Another activity for the day was ‘flying’ in Condor with 7-year-old Sara Alexandrescu, daughter of proprietors Andreea and Florin.  Sara is determined to learn to fly gliders, even though she has a hard time reaching the rudder pedals from a standard height chair.  Sara is interested in everything associated with gliders and aviation, and growing up on a gliderport and being “raised by the village” is the best possible way to do this.  More lessons to follow, as the outlook for tomorrow and Monday are not so great.
