Happy new year to all of you !!!

Ein glückliches Neues Jahr ; that was it for sure , for young German pilot Benjamin Bachmaier who flew after Fabian did it already, his first 1000 km. now as well and…on January 1, a day for him to never forget !!! The boys have put the new gliding field of Stonefield on the map.

Gelukkig Nieuwjaar; that was it for a few of my Dutch friends in Corowa. Harry Wondergem flew the first Corowa-season-1000 together with Hans-Jürgen Lange from Germany. Others had SUPER flights and they know that tomorrow the temperature will be 40dgr!!!! What will that day bring ???!!!! From experience I know that sometimes the ” day before” was the best day. Let’s wait and see and hope! Of course it is not the most important thing in life, but for “us” gliderpilots it would be great to have a “HAMMERDAY” in Australia as well.

Godt Nytar; and that was January 1 certainly, with 5 New Danish records for Ib and Ole in Tocumwal.A great start of 2012!!!

Buon 2012 and Felice E Prospero 2012 for my Italian and Spanish friends and bonne annee for the French.
20 of the French team [some might have celebrated already in Argentina,]  will fly  the pre worlds in Gonzalez Chavez next week.
And last but not least ” Gelukkige nuwe jaar” for my South African friends and I hope the people in Namibia are happy with that as welll. What a SUPER  season they have!!!!

It looks like a great sport-year with WGC’s , EGC’s the Olympics in London and the European soccer comps in the East-European countries Poland and Ukraine. We will be virtual  “there”.
