New Book: Italian Vintage Sailplanes

Italian glider historian and vintage sailplane event organizer, Vincenzo Pedrielli, has just announced the upcoming release of his latest publication about historic gliders. The book, titled Italian Vintage Sailplanes / Alianti Italiani d’Epoca, has taken several years of dedicated research to complete and includes the fine graphics of fellow researcher and glider historian Francesco Camastra. It is currently being printed and will be available online from the publisher (EQIP) in mid-November [Editors’ Note: this is the same high-quality publisher that printed the Martin Simons books]. Mr. Pedrielli had previously published The Start of Gliding in Italy. As with his earlier publication this latest work is written in dual-language Italian and English format with, as the author humorously notes on his website, a “strong Italian accent of course”. His detailed website, www.vincenzopedrielli.it, contains a wealth of photos, drawings, restoration progress, and vintage glider event information. Italian Vintage Sailplanes / Alianti Italiani d’Epoca promises an accurate view into a world of rare glider designs and should be a welcome addition to any sailplane enthusiast’s library.
